Got your attention! In place of your normal Christmas gift you may consider supporting our Panda Bear & tool box program. How does it work? Simply make a tax-deductible donation of $15 to buy a tool box or $20 to buy a Panda Bear (soft toy that is, not a real one). You will receive a special Christmas Card to give to someone explaining what you have done on their behalf. Your gift of a tool box to a young person studying to be a mechanic in one of our technical colleges, cared for by the Oblates in Indonesia, will help them complete their training. After finishing their studies the student will be given the 82 piece special car kit tool box to help them find work. Your gift of a Panda Bear will help to purchase soft toys and equipment that will bring joy into the lives of infants and young children in a Chinese orphanage supported by the Oblates. How do I order the gift cards? See Denise at the Office any day except Tuesday or they can be purchased from the Piety Stall. Goats & chooks may be ordered on line: mami@oblates.com.au or www.oblates.com.au/mami
On Sunday 21st November at the 10.30am Mass in St David’s, four people will take a step on their faith journey.
One young man and a woman have taken the decision to be baptised, confirmed and to receive the Eucharist, another, although baptised in another Christian community now wishes to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church. A fourth person is a young woman who, although baptised a Catholic, now wishes to complete her initiation by being Confirmed and receiving the Eucharist.
The decisions taken by these people have not been taken lightly. They have all begun to deepen their understanding of faith and the Catholic Church and are now ready to take the first official step toward full communion with Christ and His Church. We support them in their journey and ask that you remember each of them in your prayers.
Columban Calendars $7 each and Vinnies Christmas Cards $5 a pack of ten cards.
During the month of November, Tuesday & Saturday morning Masses will be offered up for the repose of the Holy Souls from our November Offerings. Names of people will be on the lists behind Father’s Chair in the Sacristy. Envelopes for these Masses are available from the Foyers of St David’s and Our Lady of Hope or from your Planned Giving Envelope Set.
